Boil 200g red lentils with 3 cups of water and set aside. Heat 2 tbsps of ghee in a pan; (for tempering) Add 1⁄2 tsp of cumin, a few curry leaves, 1 no. dried red chilli and allow spluttering. Add 200 g of finely chopped onions and sauté till golden brown. Add 1 tbsp of ginger garlic paste and add 120g finely chopped tomatoes. Then, cook for 3 minutes. Add 25g of Kaira's Dal Masala and mix well. Add the boiled dal (with its water) and mix well. Adjust salt and water if required. Garnish with kasuri methi (dried fenugreek leaves). Serve hot with rotis or rice.
